Nelson Ira Norton (March 30, 1820 – October 28, 1887) was a U.S. Representative from New York.
Born near Salamanca, in Great Valley, New York, Norton received a limited education. He engaged in agricultural pursuits. He was County supervisor of Cattaraugus County in 1860 and 1865–1867. He was in the Justice of the Peace 1852–1870. He served as member of the State assembly in 1861 and 1862.
Norton was elected as a Republican to the Forty-fourth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Augustus F. Allen and served from December 6, 1875 to March 3, 1877. He resumed agricultural pursuits. He died in Hinsdale, New York, October 28, 1887. He was interred in Maplehurst Cemetery.
