Edward Degraffenried (June 30, 1899 - November 5, 1974) was a U.S. Representative from Alabama.

Born in Eutlw, Alabama, Degraffenried graduated from Gulf Coast Military Academy, Gulfport, Mississippi, in 1917. During the First World War served as a private in the United States Army and was discharged on December 5, 1918, at Camp Pike, Arkansas.He graduated from law school of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa in 1921.He was admitted to the bar in June 1921, and commenced practice of law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.He served as solicitor of the sixth judicial circuit of Alabama from 1927 through 1934.He was an unsuccessful for reelection in 1934 and for election in 1938.

Degraffenried was again elected solicitor and served from January 1943 to January 1947.He was unsuccessful for the Democratic nomination in 1946 to the Eightieth Congress.

Degraffenried was elected as a Democrat to the Eight-first and Eight-second Congresses (January 3, 1949-January 3, 1953).He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1952.He continued the practice of law until his retirement shortly before his death in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, November 5, 1974.He was interred in Evergreen Cemetery.
