state highway in theU.S. state ofTexas located inside the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. Locally, the road is known as Egret Bay Boulevard.The short highway travels southeast (parallel to Interstate 45) from NASA Road 1 west of the
Johnson Space Center to FM 646 in nearby League City, crossing over Clear Creek and the Galveston County line. The road mainly serves local neighborhoods.In
1995 , the state of Texas officially cancelled the road in favor of an Urban Road designation, but the designation is only used by the state itself.History
The original FM 270 was established in
1945 in Hopkins County as a route from Sulphur Bluff to the village of Dike, and eventually it was extended to Pickton. The route was cancelled in1959 and the highway was transferred to FM 69 and FM 269.The highway was reestablished in
1970 , running from NASA Road 1 to FM 518 and was extended in1987 to its current distance.Counties traversed
