Sanjay Memorial Institute of Technology offers education in Diploma, Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering), Library Science and Masters (management programme).

Sanjay Memorial Institute of Technology is called SMIT by students and faculty. SMIT was founded by Late Mr. Brundaban Nayak in the early 1980's.The first of its facility was setup in Ankuspur in the outskirts of Berhampur.The campus boasts a series of buildings for different functions. It has separate buildings for Management, Diploma, Library Science and labs. The campus also hosts a boys hostel with a small cricket cum footbal ground.

The campus is located on NH217. Surrounding the campus is an Ayurvedic college with agricultural land.

The Degree Engineering course started in the year 1997 and is affiliated to Berhampur University.The Degree Engineering course is now operated from a different campus located at Chandipadar.
