Weather Data Mining

Weather Data Mining

Weather Data Mining is a form of Data mining concerned with finding the hidden patterns out of the Large available meteorological data, so that the information retrieved can be transformed into the usable knowledge. Variety of data mining tool and techniques are available in the industry, but limited are for the domain of meteorology.

Data mining, the extraction of the hidden predictive information from large databases, is a powerful new technology with great potential to analyze important information in the data warehouse. Data mining scours databases for hidden patterns, finding predictive information that experts may miss, as it goes beyond their expectations. There is an increasing desire to use this new technology in the new application domain, a growth perception that these large passive databases can be made into useful actionable information. Meteorology is one of such domains, where data mining can improve the productivity of its analysts tremendously by transforming their voluminous, unmanageable and prone to ignorance Information to the usable piece of Knowledge.

“Data mining is the process of digging through large data sets and extracting the useful information for analyzing to find the hidden patterns and relationships using modern statistical and computational techniques.”
