The Chicago Debate League (CDL) is an American urban debate league located in Chicago, Illinois.

History

CDL is operated by the Chicago Public Schools. In 2001, the school system assumed control of the league from the Chicago Debate Commission, an organization of civic leaders that founded the league in 1997. Debate is now a regular course offering around Chicago in 23 high schools, and an interscholastic activity in 43 high schools.
