Stephanos Papadopoulos , a Greek-American poet and translator, was born inNorth Carolina in 1976 and was raised inParis andAthens . Educated in the US andEdinburgh ,Scotland , he holds a degree inclassical archaeology from theUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill .His work has been published in periodicals such as the
Yale Review , Poetry Review, Stand Magazine,The New Republic and many others. He has translated works of the Greek poets,Yiannis Ritsos ,Kostas Karyotakis , and Katerina Anghelaki-Rooke. He iseditor and co-translator ofDerek Walcott in Greek, "Selected Poems" in 2007. Selections of his work have been translated into Greek, Italian, Spanish, and French. “Lost Days”, his first collection, is published byMichael Hulse with Leviathan Press inLondon and Rattapallax Press inNew York . His second book “Hotel-Dieu” is forthcoming from [Sheep Meadow Press] . He is at work on a third collection of poems about theBlack Sea Greeks based on their historic exodus from that region.“…One can hardly fail to notice the sensuality of Stephanos poapadopoulos’ Lost Days.
