Altai Mountains across Central, South, and Far EastSiberia ,Sakhalin and theKuril Islands and fromMongolia across NorthChina to WestKorea andJapan . It is a member of the Snow Apollo genusParnassius of the Swallowtail (Papilionidae ) family.The butterfly prefers open habitats in thetaiga belt; in the mountains up to thesubalpine zone (1,000–2,000 m.) The flight period is from May–June (June–July at high altitudes). Larvae feed on "Corydalis " spp. including "C. gigantea" and "C. ambigua".External links
