[cite web|url=http://www.sbhs.stbenedict.com/?sect=about_us&page=who|title=Who We Are|accessdate=2007-05-11|author=SBHS] ]For more than fifty years, St. Benedict High School has existed as a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory institution of the Archdiocese of Chicago. St. Benedict's goal is to prepare students for continuous educational growth through strong scholastic programs inherently strengthened through rewarding service projects.
The administration, faculty, and students of St. Benedict proclaim the Gospel of Christ and strive to live as Christ would. We teach students to serve their families, their school, and the larger community, and are committed to developing the total person: mind, body and spirit.
Mission Statement
Since 1902, Catholic education has been a tradition in the ministry of St. Benedict Parish. The schools of St. Benedict prepare young people pre-school through high school for life long learning through academic excellence based on individual needs and talents, spiritual formation, personal growth and a commitment to multicultural community life and Christian stewardship.
Technology
In the 21st Century, a classroom is no longer just desks and chairs. How we learn is as important as what we learn, and technology plays a big part. St. Benedict High School integrates technology into its curriculum so students will have experience with some of the most advanced high-tech tools of the classroom.
St. Benedict has a campus-wide wireless network which gives students access to the information they need when they need it. And with an increasing number of computers added each year, the student-to-computer ratio is better than 2:1. Within the halls of St. Benedict is a professional-quality video production studio that allows students to create amazing presentations for not just technology classes. St. Benedict students even get paid for work with the technology department – an extraordinary resume builder before they graduate!
