The Federal Government College Lagos (FGCL) is a co-educational secondary school in Ijanikin, Lagos, Nigeria. It was established by the Federal Ministry of Education in 1975. The idea of this college in Lagos was conceived in the minds of the authorities of the Federal Ministry of Education early in 1974 when they thought it necessary to have one co-educational institution for Lagos state as there were in all the then 12 states of the Federation.

Entry into the school can be done in two ways..One of which is by the national exam in Nigeria.(common entrance)..This examination is taken and it is required to enter all Federal schools in Nigeria for students who want to start from "JSS1". Another method by which candidates can get admission into the school is by transfer from another school to the college. However transfer can be done from only JS2 and SS1. For students who wish to get into the school through the transfer method,they are required to take an examination also which is usually conducted in the school.The examination is marked and candidates are screened and then successful candidates will be short-listed and contacted.. UNIFORM The schools' color is grey and white. A Male Junior students wear a white shirt and short grey knickers A Female Junior students wear a white shirt underneath their grey pinafores A Male Senior students wear a white shirt and long grey trousers A Female Senior students wear a white shirt and grey skirts
The College Mission Statement is Excellence in Learning and CharacterThe School now has a Fountain, a completed assembly hall and reduction in bullying of junior student by the senior student to the Principal.
The students'behaviour has improved tremendously, they now see themselves as kings and queens. This has positively affected their attitude and relationship with one another.
