- Leicester Bike Park
The Leicester Bike Park is a bicycle parking facility in
Leicester Town Hall,Great Britain . It is managed by the City Council, Environ and Webster’s Cycles, and opened 1997. It is the largest secure park in the UK, with 120 spaces.Other facilities include showers, changing facilities, lockers, bike/trailer cycle trailer hire (April-August), repair workshop and the only
Brompton Bicycle dealer in the city. The Bike Park was developed as the result of research into public attitudes to cycling, carried out by GWLL in the 1990s. These studies showed that in addition to the need for safe cycle routes, the lack of secure bike parking and changing facilities for commuters were barriers preventing people from cycling.
However, the Bike Park is soon set to close after Environ went behind the back of Websters Trading who have run the facility for over ten years.
