- Fyedka
Fyedka is
Chava 's love and husband by the end of "Fiddler on the Roof ". They meet in Motel's Tailor Shop when Fyedka's friends, Sasha, and another Russian are being mean to Chava. He stops his friends teasings and offers to loan Chava a book, and a secret relationship begins.Yente tells Chava's sister, Tzeitel, that she saw Chava and Fyedka together "and it wasn't the first time". They are together (the audience only sees them together three times) and they fall in love. He wants to tell Tevye, her father, that they love each other and they want to get married. Chava tells him not to and she'll take care of it. Tevye shows up and Fyedka offers him his hand to shake. He does not. Fyedka looks at Chava, giving her a look telling her to tell her father, bids them good day. Chava talks to her father and he says for her never to see or talk to him again. The next day they go off to the priest and are married.
Because of their marriage, Chava is disowned by her parents and she has only Fyedka. They come to say good bye to them. Tevye only sees them when Chava hugs her mother, Golde. He is by her side all the while she speaks to her father. Tevye tells Tzeitel, as Chava is leaving, that he hopes "God will be with them."
