- Bombala railway line, New South Wales
The Bombala railway line is a partially closed branch railway line in the south of New South Wales, Australia. It branches from the Main South line at Joppa Junction and passes south through the townships of Bungendore, Queanbeyan and Cooma before ending in Bombala. The line reached Bombala in 1921, and was progressively closed back to Queanbeyan, where the Canberra line branches off. The line between Joppa Junction and Queanbeyan sees regular passenger trains between Sydney and Canberra. The line between Queanbeyan and Michelago has since been re-opened for heritage tourist operation by the ACT Division of the Australian Railway Historical Society.[cite web| work = Cooma- Monaro Railway| title = Cooma- Monaro Railway| url=http://www.cmrailway.org.au/| accessdate = 2007-05-05 ] Another heritage railway, the Cooma Monaro Railway (CMR), uses restored CPH Railmotors (Tin Hares) between Cooma and Chakola.]
There have been calls for the line to be used for local services from Canberra though Queanbeyan to Bungendore.
