At the age of 9 she took guitar lessons and eventually started teaching herself.
She attended Wellington East Girls' college in Wellington. As a part of a year-10 music assignment students had to compose a piece of music. Ete wrote a song about her little sister entitled "Ahirana" on the guitar. From there, a love for songwriting was born and she continued to write and sing at school assemblies, talent quests and eventually in local bars and cafes.
In 2006, in her final year of high school Ete entered Smoke-free Rockquest as a solo artist and came second in the Wellington regionals and went on to come 3rd in the national competition. She also won best vocals.
Her vocal style has been likened to New Zealand Artists Iva Lamkum and Ladi 6. Her music is heavily influenced by that of Amy Winehouse and the legendary Ella Fitzgerald.
Ete is currently studying Acting at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School. Ete is currently unsigned.
