- Malacca Monorail
-
The Malacca Monorail is a monorail in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia.
The first phase of the system, built at a cost of RM RM15.9 million and covering 1.6km from Taman Rempah in Pengkalan Rama to Kampung Bunga Raya Pantai, was opened to the public on 21 October 2010.[1]. However, hours after opening, the monorail ground to a halt, stranding 20 passengers inside. As of December 2010[update], after a series of similar problems, the monorail is no longer operational[2]; the monorail has recently been spotted at nights doing test runs, however[3].
A RM13.2-million extension has been approved.[2]
