The company grew from
Cincinnati Bell Information Systems and MATRIXX, both subsidiaries of Cincinnati Bell, and AT&T Solutions Customer Care (formerly AT&T American Transtech), which was sold to Cincinnati Bell in 1998; an IPO in 1998 made it a fully independent company. Since then, Convergys' headquarters inCincinnati, Ohio , has acquired numerous companies and expanded its business to employ nearly 75,000 employees who serve clients in more than 70 countries, speaking more than 35 languages, from 79 sites across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America.Key milestones as a public company
1998 - Convergys was formed from MATRIXX Marketing and Cincinnati Bell Information Systems (CBIS), two subsidiaries of the Cincinnati Bell Inc.holding company. Goes public with $0.9M in revenues.
1999 - Convergys completed its spin-off from Cincinnati Bell Inc. Cincinnati Bell distributed approximately 137 million shares of Convergys common stock to shareholders to complete the spin-off.
1998 - Convergys acquires AT&T Solutions Customer Care, with 4,500 employees.
