Anthiro (Greek, Modern: Ανθηρό, Katharevousa: -όν), older form: Anthiron, also with the o accented is a Greek mountainous village located 75 km west of
Karditsa in the western part of theKarditsa Prefecture . Anthiro is also the seat of the municipality ofArgithea . Anthiro had a population of in2001 . Anthiro is located 60 km west ofKarditsa , 50 km fromMouzaki and 36 km south of Pyli Trikalon. Anthiro is connected in the narrow-laned treacherous GR-30 (Arta -Karditsa ).Its residents are based in
agriculture which includeshoney production. In the village features a museum. Near the village has the Korakos bridge which was built in the12th century and the Kleftovryssi and Stavro bridges.Population
The village saw a great decline in population between
1981 and1991 by emigration and the aging population, the population growth was restored between the census of1991 and2001 .Other
