Episode recap

Jon, Garfield and Odie take their television to a repair shop. The repairman tells Jon that the TV set is out of date, and Jon protests that he bought the set last year. The repairman tries to convince him that he needs to buy a new set every year and then suggests doing just that, but Jon refuses.

In the television showroom, Garfield comes across the Taste-o-Vision, a television that lets the viewer eat whatever food is being served on TV. Garfield tests it out and likes it until a mudslide interrupts the dinner on television. Later, Garfield and Odie watch a three-dimensional television, and Odie gets pelted with a pie by Binky the Clown and splashed by a big wave before finally getting pulled into the TV by an octopus.

Meanwhile, Garfield puts on a set of glasses with mini TV screens in them to use while jogging, and during the jog he obliviously almost gets hit by cars several times. The repairman lets Odie out of the 3D television just before Garfield comes back and crashes into the broken TV set, and the bump causes the TV to come back on. After Jon takes the TV home, the repairman questions why anyone wouldn’t want the three-dimensional TV, but then King Kong pulls him into the set.

Goofs

*The cassette player that Jon listens to has headphones but no actual player.
*When Jon’s television is turned on, it doesn’t appear to be plugged in.

Quotes

Garfield: ["To TV"] Please, speak to me. Just one game show. Just a commercial. I’m desperate. I’d..I’d even watch Binky.

["Odie gasps"]

Lady:Next week we'll learn about the octopus. ["Octopus grabs Odie"]

Repairman: [The Taste-o-Vision] combines eating and TV watching.

Garfield: Hmmm! Two of my three favorite activities. Work sleeping in there and I’m set for life.
