RPM ("Revoluções Por Minuto", "revolutions per minute" in Portuguese), was a
Brazilian rock band. It was formed bysinger /bassistPaulo Ricardo ,keyboardist Luiz Schiavon , guitaristFernando Deluqui anddrummer Paulo Antônio "P.A." Pagni.They played soft techno-pop with strong, paradoxical, influences of
progressive rock and Europeansynth-pop . Their lyrics were pessimistic, ironic and full of literary (Arthur Rimbaud ,Surrealism and books likeChristiane F. ) and political references, with a strong leftist tone.The band was very successful in the early 1980s; the live album
