The church is dedicated to
Saint Lawrence and is situated at the eastern end of the village. The newer centre of the village is now some distance away. The church has anave with three bays, a north and southaisle , a tower that contains five bells, achancel , a south porch and a largevestry on the north side of the tower. In the
village today there is a pub, The Maids Head, but there once were two more. The village faces the larger settlement ofSoham across a flat expanse of agricultural land, once flooded, and still called SohamMere . The population was 699 in 1991 but now there are many new houses so that figure will be different.References
