Alexandra Deshorties (born 1975) is a French-Canadian soprano, and sings principally opera. She was born in Canada and raised in Marseilles, France.
A winner of the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions at 21, she entered the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist program the following season. She made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera as the High Priestess in Aida at age 24. She has since appeared in a wide ranging number of roles, including:
Elettra (Idomeneo); Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail); La Contessa d'Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro); Fiordiligi (Così Fan Tutte); Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) The First Lady (Die Zauberflöte); Anna (Nabucco); Musetta (La Boheme); Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos); Tytania (A Midsummer Night's dream).
She has sung for the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence; the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, France; the Salzburg Festival; The San Francisco Opera; The Houston Grand Opera; The Seattle Opera; The Brooklyn Academy of Music; Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, Spain; A Coruña Festival, Spain; the Gstaad Festival.
