Poocham is a village in the town of Westmoreland in Cheshire County,
New Hampshire ,United States , near the larger communities ofKeene, New Hampshire and Brattleboro, Vermont.Poocham's oldest houses date from around 1800. The rolling hills and plentiful sugar and red
maple trees provide a colorful display in the autumn. By reputation, the name "Poocham" comes from anAbenaki Indian word meaning "gathering place". The community is almost entirely composed of homes and farms, but a smallfluorite mine and growing vineyard are also present.
