Pineville High School (PHS) is a coeducational public high school located in Pineville, in Rapides Parish in central Louisiana. The school opened in 1952. Previously, high school students north of the Red River attended either white Bolton High School or African American Peabody High School in Alexandria.

Pineville High School is the largest high school in Rapides Parish.Fact|date=April 2007 The school's enrollment is approximately 1,300 studentsFact|date=April 2007 as of the 2007-2008 school year. The school has approximately one hundred faculty, staff, and administrators.

Arts

The school is designated as a magnet center for the creative and performing arts, which hosts award-winning programs in theatre, visual arts, and musical performance. The PHS Theatre has performed musicals such as Les Misérables, Jekyll and Hyde, Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Crazy for You, and Oklahoma!, among others. The notable Pineville High School Choral program consistently has the most All-State Choir members of any school in the state. The PHS Rebel Band competes in marching band competitions across the state of Louisiana, and regularly scores superior ratings at each. The music ensembles perform annual Christmas and Spring concerts, and the Theatre performs musicals and plays year-round.

Academics

The curriculum includes advanced placement, honors, college preparation, and regular level courses. Special education programs include those which cater to students who are multi-handicapped and/or learning disabled. Academically, the school has the highest school performance score of any school in Rapides Parish.

ports

Athletic teams include football, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, track and field, and power-lifting, several of which have won 4-A district and state championships. The school was re-designated 5-A during the 2006-2007 school year.

Clubs

Pineville High has several clubs from which students can choose, such as the Beta Club, Chess Club, Future Business Leaders of America, 4-H, Key Club, National Honor Society, and Quiz Bowl.
