Thousands of philosophers from dozens of countries participated in the week-long event in Boston sponsored by the
International Federation of Philosophical Societies . Approximately 260 of the papers presented were published as "The Proceedings of the Twentieth World Congress of Philosophy" in twelve thematically organized hardbound volumes, in cooperation with the Congress's American Organizing Committee by the Philosophy Documentation Center. The topics of the volumes are: Ethics; Metaphysics; Philosophy of Education; Philosophies of Religion, Art, and Creativity; Epistemology; Analytic Philosophy & Logic; Modern Philosophy; Contemporary Philosophy; Philosophy of Mind; Philosophy of Science; Social and Political Philosophy; and Intercultural Philosophy.The Proceedings were edited by

It will take place in
