Kooduthurai

Kooduthurai

Kooduthurai, also called Mukkoodal is a holy place situated in Bhavani town, Erode District, Tamilnadu India. It is a place where three Holy rivers Cauvery, Bhavani, and 'Amirtha' Nathi meet each other. On the banks of Kooduthurai, Sri Sangameshwarar temple is located.

The name comes from 'koodu' (join or mingle) and 'thurai' (river bed).

Out of the three rivers, Amirtha nathi is not visible when seen from outside. It flows under the earth and mixes with Cauvery and Bhavani. One has to go inside the waters to see this river with the help of somebody who knows where it mixes.
