Peoria, Illinois ,United States . The home was constructed for Judge John C. Flanagan, aPhiladelphia native, in 1837. The house was either part of an original convert|620|acre|km2|sing=on tract purchased by Flanagan's father from local Native American tribes or part of a 20 acre tract purchased by Flanagan when he came to Peoria in 1831. It is believed thatAbraham Lincoln was once a guest in the home during theLincoln-Douglas debates from 1854 to 1860. The building was added to theNational Register of Historic Places onSeptember 5 ,1975 .Notes
