Pallas is a Titan associated with war. His family tree is disputed. Most sources indicate that he was the son of
Crius andEurybia , the brother ofAstraeus and Perses, and the husband of Styx. He was the father ofZelus , Nike,Cratos , and Bia [Hesiod : "Theogony ", lines 375-383] . In addition he has been named as the fatherScylla ,Fontes , andLacus . [Hyginus ] Alternatively, he was the son ofMegamedes , and father ofSelene [Homeric Hymn IV ToHermes , line 100] , and is also recorded as the father ofEos . [Ovid , Fasti 4.373] . According to one source, Pallas andAthena were practising with their spears one day when she accidentally killed Pallas. As a sign of her grief and regret, she put his name before her own. Thus, she is often known as Pallas Athena.Pallas is referenced in the poem "
