)) at the junction of Saint Petersburg–Zelenogorsk and Saint Petersburg–Sestroretsk–Beloostrov sections, being the final destinations of many suburban passenger electric trains from Finlyandsky Rail Terminal. Permanent population (in summer it is much more populated): 1,690 (2002 Census); 1,405 (1989 Census).

Beloostrov historically consists of two parts: Novy Beloostrov ( _ru. Новый Белоостров, "New White Island"; _fi. Uusi Valkeasaari) along the railway and Stary Beloostrov ( _ru. Старый Белоостров, "Old White Island"; _fi. Vanha Valkeasaari) several kilometers to the north, mostly belonging to Vsevolozhsky District of Leningrad Oblast under the name Sadovodstva ( _ru. Садоводства). Until the Winter War Beloostrov had been the last railway station before the Russia–Finland border.
