The R156 road is a
regional road in Ireland, linking the N3 national primary route nearClonee inCounty Meath to the N4 (nearMullingar ) inCounty Westmeath . The road is single carriageway throughout. Many parts of the route have dangerous bends.Route
*(East to West)
*The route leaves the N3 inCounty Dublin nearMulhuddart and in 500m crosses intoClonee inCounty Meath . Within a kilometer of leaving Clonee it enters the rapidly expanding town ofDunboyne . The remainder of the route is through rural Meath and Westmeath, passing through the villages ofMullagh , Summerhill,Rathmoylon and Ballivor in Meath andRaharney andKillucan in Westmeath before connecting to the N3 at "The Downs" east of Mullingar. It joins the N4 at a dangerous at-grade junction with a busy dual-carriageway.References
