The Fishermen Band, originally from Washington, D.C., started their folk-rock band in 1992. The Fishermen first received recognition for their unique musical style in California, touring around and playing the Los Angeles music scene with bands such as Maroon 5, AllRise and Pseudopod.

Over the last few years The Fishermen have played many notable venues including The Viper Room, Whiskey-A-Go-Go and The Troubadour in Hollywood, as well as notable D.C. venues like The Velvet Lounge, Staccato Music Hall, and the Clarendon Ballroom.

The Fishermen have just recently move to Austin, and will be performing throughout the Austin music scene.

The music of the Fishermen is a seamless mixture of alternative and folk rock. Although their music can be compared to musicians like Jason Mraz, Dave Matthews, Indigo Girls, or John Mayer, The Fishermen, with their harmonic melodies and acoustic sound, have a musical signature all their own.

Although the Fishermen are currently an unsigned, independent band, they have received many accoloades on garageband.com; receiving the award for "All-time: #1 in Groove Rock" and "Best ranking: #1 of 1,162 in Pop/Rock on 2 Feb 2004" among other awards.

The Fishermen have recently been picked up by American Soul Records and Management. The management group and label is based out of Austin, TX and is lead by Zack Prager, CEO, and Carlos Sosa, President.
