Sarafovo (Bulgarian: Сарафово) is a neighbourhood of Burgas, which is the biggest city in South Eastern Bulgaria - a regional, tourist and trade center.
Sarafovo is a beautiful calm quarter of Burgas, which is the fourth largest city in Bulgaria. The city has great infrastructure, an International airport and it is a significant commercial centre. The port of Burgas is the biggest sea port in the country. The favourable geographical location and advanced transport infrastructure of Burgas are good prerequisites for the development of tourism and trade in the southern Bulgarian Black sea coast.
Sarafovo is also called The Bulgarian Beverly Hills, because it is the most desirable residential area of Burgas, and its residents include many of the richer people of the city. It is unsurprisingly famous as the quarter with the most beautiful houses. Sarafovo was originally founded as a settlement over 80 years ago (1912–1922) by Thracian refugees.

Geography
Sarafovo is at 10 km from the centre of Burgas. There are over 4000 residents in more than 1300 houses.
It is situated on a hill on the Black Sea coast, where there is a fine view of the whole of Burgas bay, Pomorie, Sozopol, Burgas and the mountain heights of the Strandzha Mountain. Sarafovo also has a wonderful wide, sandy beach.
Tourism
The excellent combination of sea, sun and convenient transport connections makes Sarafovo an extremely attractive resort. The number of hotels and places of amusement increases every season. Currently the area is particularly popular with Irish and Norwegian tourists seeking a relaxing break in an authentic Bulgarian village. A full range of accommodation is on offer, from cheap and cheerful guesthouses to luxury holiday complexes. However there are no high-rise buildings and the area retains its sense of peace and relaxation. Tourism is the main economic activity in Sarafovo, but unlike some larger resorts, Sarafovo does not close down at the end of the main holiday season, and retains a 'lived-in' atmosphere all year round. Tourism peaks in July and August, when the population increases to 10 - 12 000 people.
A further strong impetus to visitor numbers is Burgas International Airport,[1] which is less than 1 km away from Sarafovo. In 2008 the airport welcomed more than 1.5m passengers, there are dozens of flights each day, yet the flight paths do not go over Sarafovo. Visitors appreciate the proximity of the airport without being disturbed by it. As well as the airport itself, Sarafovo is convenient to Burgas city centre (10 km), the seaside town of Pomorie (7 km.) Nessebar and the beach resort of Sunny Beach (25 km.) Sarafovo offers something for everyone, and any type of vacation.
Sarafovo also has an increasing number of foreign residents, who have chosen Bulgaria for their home. There are plans for a modern yacht port, which will increase the quality of the tourist services. Overall, Sarafovo's ambition is to become "The European face of Burgas".
