longitude that extends from theNorth Pole to theSouth Pole throughAsia ,New Guinea andAustralia .On the island of
New Guinea , 141° east defines part of the land border betweenIndonesia on the west andPapua New Guinea on the east. TheFly River forms the border where its path crosses west of the 141st meridian. South of the Fly, the border runs slightly to the east of, and parallel to, the meridian.In
Australia it forms the eastern boundary of the state ofSouth Australia , borderingQueensland andNew South Wales . The border betweenSouth Australia and Victoria was originally proclaimed to be exactly on the 141st meridian, but measurement errors resulted in the present border being about 3.6km west of this line (seeSouth Australia-Victoria border dispute ).Starting at the
