Earl Panmure

Earl Panmure

The title Earl Panmure, of Forth in the County of Wexford, was created in the Peerage of Ireland in 1743 for William Maule, a grandson of the 2nd Earl of Panmure and nephew of the attainted 4th Earl of Panmure, along with the titles Viscount Maule, of Whitechurch in the County of Waterford, and Baron Maule, of Whitechurch in the County of Waterford. The earlier Earldom of Panmure (with an "of"), in the Peerage of Scotland, had been forfeit in 1716 on account of the 4th Earl's participation in The Fifteen. All the titles became extinct on the death of the 1st Earl in 1782.
