Pal Choudhury High School

Pal Choudhury High School

Ranaghat Pal Choudhury High School (In Bengali: পাল চৌধুরী উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়) is one of the oldest schools in West Bengal and a prestigious school in Ranaghat as well as in Nadia District. It was established in the year 1853, even before Sepoy Mutiny. It is situated on the bank of river churni, around 2 km away from the Railway Station along the netaji subhash avenue. Over the years it has produced many renowned educationists, doctors, professors and engineers. But at the same time, its education system has been hampered due to retirement of some good professors. Nevertheless, this school still stands tall with its past glory and unparallel reputation.

Education system

This school has education provision from class V to class XII. Medium of instruction is Bangla. Syllabus of West Bengal board is followed both in secondary and high-secondary (Plus Two) system. Before the final board exam, two internal exams (known as Pre-Test and Test) are conducted by the school authority to see the status of the outgoing students.
