*Pole position: Nigel Mansell - 1:20.190
*Fastest lap: Nigel Mansell - 1:42.503 on lap 10
*Having been allowed to compete Perry McCarthy's Andrea Moda was entered for Pre Qualifying but famously the engine blew and the car rolled to a halt 18 metres later having barely left the garage.
*Ayrton Senna spun off the track in the closing stages of the race, but was still classified 9th.
*This race saw the first non 1-2 finish for the Williams team of the season.
*Martin Brundle scored his 4th consecutive retirement of the season in his Benetton.
