500 cc race report
Kevin Schwantz injured his hand in practice and misses the race.
Mick Doohan on pole; gets the start from Àlex Crivillé and Wayne Rainey. Doohan getting a small gap and Rainey moving into 2nd.
Rain brings out a red flag; 18 laps for a second leg in intermediate conditions.
After one or two laps, Doohan again at the front, then Juan Garriga.
Pouring rain and another red flag, ending the race.
