- Jan Scholten
Jan Scholten (born December 23 1951,
Helmond ,Netherlands ) is a practitioner ofhomeopathy ,author of several books andresearcher in this field. He is best known for histheories andobservations concerning the use ofmineral s andchemical element s and their salts in homeopathy. He was the first to described and introduce thelanthanide s and their salts, in potentized forms, in homeopathic preparations forpathology .Education and professional development
Before starting his medical education he first studied
chemistry for 2 years andphilosophy for 3 years. Scholten received a MD degree in1983 . Then he studied homeopathy andacupuncture . Among othersRoger Morrison ,George Vithoulkas ,Alphons Geukens ,Kÿnzli andBill Gray belonged to his teachers. After finishing the study of homeopathy in1985 he started a classical homeopathic practice. He is the co-founder of the "Homeopathic Doctors Center Utrecht", founded in1988 , in Utrecht. He is also familiar with many otheralternative medicine s, likeorthomolecular medicine ,herbalism , and Bach remedies [ [http://www.alonnissos.org/boek.htm Stichting Alonnissos] ] . He calls himself "homo universalis" - a scientist well known in all fields ofscience . According to himmedicine ,psychology ,mythology ,chemistry ,physics ,biology andreligion come together in homeopathy. Scholten is interested in a human being, the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects in the state ofhealth anddisease [ [http://www.janscholten.com/page5.html Life of Jan Scholten] ] .Works
Scholten's first book, Homoeopathy and Minerals, was published in
1993 , and has been translated into 10 languages. In this book, Scholten describes the use of minerals in homeopathy, especially unknown remedies, and introduced a new method of analysis he called "group analysis". This, Scholten claimed, makes it possible to predict the "homeopathic pictures" of unknown remedies, and to handle the huge amount of information in homeopathy; as the "essential characteristics of a group of remedies" with the same element are being extracted.Scholten's second book, Homeopathy and the Elements, appeared in
1996 and became a standard in homeopathy. The book contains a homeopathic analysis of all the elements of theperiodic table of Mendeleev. The classification of homeopathic remedies by using the periodic table was named "the element theory". Scholten divided the elements into 7 series, corresponding with the rows of the periodic system, and 18 stages, corresponding with the columns of the periodic system. All the series have a "theme of life". The 7 series contain:
*Row 1 - Hydrogen series (Hydrogen andHelium ) - theme: unborn
*Row 2 -Carbon series (Lithium toNeon ) - theme: individuality
*Row 3 -Silicon series (Sodium toArgon ) - theme: family and relations
*Row 4 -Iron series (Potassium toKrypton ) - theme: work
*Row 5 -Silver series (Rubidium toXenon ) - theme: creativity
*Row 6 -Gold series (Caesium toRadon andlanthanide s) - theme: leadership/autonomy
*Row 7 -Uranium series (Francium toPlutonium and further) - retirement and intuitionAccording to Scholten, an open spiral of chemical elements shows the development of
self-awareness .Scholten's latest work, "Secret Lanthanides - Road to Independence", was published in November
2005 . This book contains the homeopathic portraits of persons in a Lanthanide state and describes the use of theLanthanide s and their salts inhealth anddisease . Scholten performed homeopathic provings with lanthanides, and introduced them in potentized (energetic) forms into homeopathy. Theforeword is written byRajan Sankaran .Present activity
Scholten is the president of "Stichting Alonissos", a foundation for the promotion of homeopathy. He is affiliated with the "Stichting Homeopathische Opleidingen" (SHO) in
Wageningen , an independent training-institute for postgraduate homeopathic education forphysician s,veterinarian s,obstetrician s andpharmacist s, located in the Netherlands. Scholten also initiated the international homeopathicinternet journal "Interhomeopathy" for professionals, published monthly, to promote the exchange of ideas, theory and cases.Scholten has also delivered lectures about his theories and discoveries all over the world.
