Episode recap

Jon and Garfield watch a show where a doctor states that when a person lives with a pet for a long time, (s)he will begin acting like the pet. They both think this notion is ridiculous, but then they begin saying the same phrases simultaneously while also performing the same tasks. Jon then insists to himself that he is not behaving like Garfield before he goes to bed.

Jon then has a dream that features him wanting nothing but lasagna instead of a date with Liz, getting his cartoons published, and a banquet provided by his mother. He awakens from the dream after seeing a reflection of Garfield in the mirror; later, he goes to see the doctor from TV and admits that he and Garfield have been doing several of the same things together. The doctor suggests that Jon do things that Garfield would never do.

Jon tries taking up hockey, biking, and dressing up like Carmen Miranda, but Garfield also does all these things. He then laments that with everything he tries, “nothing seems to "work"”; then he realizes that work is something that Garfield doesn’t do, and he soon begins yard work. Garfield then references the TV doctor and states that he would never start behaving like Odie, but then he and Odie do the exact same tricks with a ball. They realize this and then try to change their behavior, and they soon come back and forth wearing the same costumes.

Goofs

*Jon is raking the grass, but there are no leaves on it.
*During one of Jon's dreams, Liz's voice is softer than her normal, making her voice a mistake.
