Symbiosis Institute of International Business

Symbiosis Institute of International Business (est. 1992, previously Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Trade) is one of the prominent B-schools in India. SIIB's mission is to turn out well balanced, socially conscious professionals for the corporate world.

Infrastructure

SIIB stands imposingly on an ultra-modern campus at Pune Infotech Park Hinjawadi which is turning out to be an important zone for India's top IT and other corporate giants. SIIB has a convert|5|acre|m2|sing=on, picturesque campus which includes an auditorium, indoor swimming pool, separate hostels for girls and boys, faculty accommodation and a world-class academic block. The academic block in addition to modern classrooms, comprises students' committee room, a common room, discussion rooms, a conference hall and an MDP Centre. The campus also has an active film club.

NAAC accreditation and AICTE approval

SIIB is the first autonomous Management institute in India to be accredited by the prestigious NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) set up by UGC (Universities Grants Commission).

International affiliation

SIIB has developed affiliation with International Universities for the purpose of faculty and student exchange programmes and research. An annual feature of SIIB is a visit to Bremen University for four weeks during summers, where selected students are exposed to international business practices in Europe.

As a part of the tie-up with Oakland University - School of Administration at Michigan, USA, faculty from both institutions have conducted full-fledged courses on a reciprocal basis. A student exchange programme is also part of this tie-up.

Health and medical care

The campus also houses a healthcare centre in the name of SIHS (Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences), with a residential Medical Officer. Along with a compulsory annual check-up carried out by specialists, a student studying at SIIB is given an insurance under Mediclaim and Road Traffic Accident Policy for up to Rs. 50,000/-

Other facilities

A computer laboratory with 150 machines having internet facilities and a Wi-Fi campus, Library with over 26,560 books, 210 journals, 1715 CD- Roms/ Videos and well furnished hostels are the other basic amenities provided by the college.

Opportunities Galore @ SIIB

Symbiosis Institute Of International Business (SIIB) ,eclipsing all past records, has set yet another benchmark. Statistics do not show the complete picture, how big a success Placement 2007 was! Apart from International Marketing and Supply Chain, which SIIB is known for students also got profiles as diverse as Corporate Finance, Domain Consulting, International Market Research, Product Development, Derivative Trading, Equity Research, Wealth Management as well as core Sales and Marketing profiles. Also, 3 excellent international business offers were made in the manufacturing sector. A total of 69 companies were scheduled to visit for the final placement process of MPIB and this figure stood at 22 for MPABM. The placement week was held in December 2006, and in this period, 112 students of MPIB were placed in 34 companies and 43 students of MPABM program were placed in 11 companies. A separate week was assigned for lateral placements. Students from various backgrounds got plenty of choice to select their desired company. A few companies participated in the selection process specifically for students with work experience.

Placement Statistics Average Salary for MPIB batch stood at Rs. 7.55 lacs per annum with a highest of Rs. 11.75 lacs per annum. Average Salary for MPABM batch stood at Rs. 5.3 lacs per annum with a highest of Rs. 7.6 lacs per annum.
