Hunt Refining Company was founded by oilman H.L. Hunt as an asphalt refining company in 1946. Today it owns and operates a convert|52000|oilbbl/d|m3/d|sing=on petroleum refinery in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The plant also includes a convert|16000|oilbbl/d|m3/d|sing=on coker and a convert|15000|oilbbl/d|m3/d|sing=on diesel hydrotreater.cite web

Activity at the Tuscaloosa refinery was in part the cause of a federal air pollution case that Hunt Refining settled for $49 million.
