Day Creek Intermediate School was opened in the fall of 2004. The school opened with three grade levels (6th, 7th, 8th). Currently, there is a projected enrollment of 921 students attending Day Creek Intermediate School. Day Creek Intermediate School has an excellent band program that has a great reputation and also has sports program with a variety of sports. Day Creek Intermediate School also includes a Leadership class where students learn the fundamentals of teamwork and helping others. The best class was the class that graduated in 2008, those students are current Juniors at their high schools.
In the school year of 2006-2007, DCIS was recognized as a California Distinguished School.[1] In 2008 Day Creek Intermediate School earned an API score of 900. As of 2009, Day Creek Intermediate School has an API of 923. The group of students who graduated in 2007 was the first to attend all three years of Day Creek Intermediate School.
