*Art — Jamie Presley and Terri McCrory: In art, there are four different classes: Beginner, Art 2-D, Art 3-D, and Art Advanced. Art 2-D teaches the students how to use different types of elemental techniques on drawing and painting. Art 3-D teaches the third dimension of art to the students and includes work with clay to make masks, pottery, and houses and papermache to make piñatas. After taking Art 2-D and Art 3-D, students are permitted to take Art Advanced if they choose. Students learn more about art and the elemental aspects of art. During the school year, students turn in a number of art selections to be submitted into art contests such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

*Band — Rick Brockway, Maria Hernandez, Keith Raney: Westbrook Band is one of the premier Middle School Bands in Region XVII. There are four levels, Beginner, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Advanced. Beginner is only for 6th graders learning how to play an instrument. 6th graders can join band a year later in 7th but it is very rare. The Advanced and Concert band levels both received a "Sweepstakes" (highest rating of I in Sight Reading and Concert Performance) at the annual UIL Competition in the 2005-2006 School year, as well as in '06-'07 and '07-'08. Under the direction of Mr. Brockway the Webster Intermediate band scored as a three-time state finalist in the TMEA Honor Competition. *Journalism — Carol Hairfield: Westbrook's journalism committee works on the yearbook all year, learning about how to take photos, how to write an article, and techniques that could later be used.

Magnet program

In 1996, Clear Creek Independent School District established an intermediate gifted and talented magnet at Webster Intermediate School, known as Webster Academy – Visions in Education (WAVE). This program was moved to Westbrook in 2005. The name however did not change and the names is still associated with Webster intermediate, which is now under the name Clear Path, and is used as an AEP school. (alternative education program)

This GT magnet academy brings together gifted and talented students from across the District for the opportunity to interact with their intellectual peers and to participate in a learning environment designed to facilitate and expand their opportunities and experiences. There are approximately 100 students per grade level in the WAVE program, and all are identified as gifted and talented. Every four and a half to nine weeks, these students select mini-courses that are offered by their teachers. Mini-courses reach through a wide range of genres, from SCUBA diving to fencing, board game design to teaching, roller coaster design, future cities competitions, robotics, music composition, foreign languages or countries, etc. There is even a mini-course that teaches students how to use Photoshop CS2, as well as one that gives a HAM radio license.

Students who attend the WAVE program may come from all over Clear Creek Independent School District. Their school day (8:08-3:10) begins and ends one hour earlier than regular intermediate school students (9:00-4:00), excluding Science Magnet students. They also take only one language arts period, a compound class of reading and writing, instead of the usual one period of reading and one period of writing. this is what allows the changes in schedule that provide time for the mini-courses.
