Matt W. Windschitl is the Iowa State Representative from the 56th District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2007, when he defeated Republican incumbent Paul Wilderdyke in a primary election. He is a gunsmith and a conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad.

As of September 2011, Windschitl serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Administration and Rules, Commerce, Public Safety, and Transportation committees.
