Andrew Wenthe is the Iowa State Representative from the 18th District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2006. He received his BA from the University of Northern Iowa.

Wenthe currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Agriculture committee; the Appropriations committee; the Economic Growth committee; the Transportation committee; and the Natural Resources committee. He also serves as vice-chair of the Education Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes serving as a legislative assistant for State Senator Jeff Danielson and as legislative staff for Senator Chuck Grassley.

Wenthe was elected in 2006 with 6,160 votes (56%), defeating Republican opponent David Lalk. [http://www.sos.state.ia.us/pdfs/GenOffResults.pdf]
