Rydell had three older sisters, one of whom hadDown's Syndrome and died at age three. He spent his second birthday in a hospital with his father, who was recovering fromcancer -induced amputation of one of his legs. Rydell first gained notoriety in
radio inSpokane, Washington with following gigs in KXYQ and KMJK inPortland, Oregon , then a two-year stint inCleveland atWNCX . Rydell was the anchor on morning show that launchedMike Trivisonno and Todd Brandt into radio fame.
