Homo gardarensis

Homo gardarensis was the name mistakenly given to partial remains found in a burial at Gardar, Greenland in a 12th-century Viking settlement. Original statements compared the remains to "Homo heidelbergensis" but this identification was subsequently disproven. The bones were classified as the remains of a contemporary human who suffered from acromegaly, and put away at Panum Institute in Copenhagen.

Mark A. Hall, a cryptozoologist, considers the original designation to be more valid, and contends that the specimen is representative of his category of "Trolls", a kind of creature he believes exists, and compares with Sasquatchs and yetis.
