The Economist group. The newspaper gives an account of the activities of the keyEuropean Union institutions – theEuropean Commission ,European Parliament andCouncil of Ministers . The paper is available by subscription or limited to newsstands inLondon ,Brussels , Luxembourg andStrasbourg , reflecting the specialist nature of its readership.Presentation
The European Voice maintains an independent stance regarding the affairs of the European Union. The majority of the papers articles cover the day to day business of the EU and its interactions in domestic and international affairs. There is also an editorial and opinion section, a section for readers letters and a crossword. Each week there is a section dedicated to a single issue, which is usually topical (for example
climate change ) and examines the issue and its relationship with theEuropean Union . Until recently the rear page of the paper was taken up by the "Entre Nous" column which reports on the more unusual stories of the week, with an often humorous tone. This has now been moved within the main body of the paper as part of a larger redesign of both printed and online editions of the paper, which has emphasised better categorisation and more colour prints.Rein F. Deer wrote an racist article "Polish dreams of mashed potatoes" Vol. 13 No. 12 - 29 March 2007 in which he mocks President of the Republick of Poland as well as the Prime Minister. The journalist uses an abusive language not only to affront the government officials but also the whole nation. Using stereotypes he defends the thesis popularized by Tageszeitung among less educated western europeans concerning the situation in Poland.
