Mayumana is a multicultural troupe, established in 1996 in Tel Aviv, which developed a unique language based on skills, rhythm, visual effects and, above all – creativity and humor. Throughout their years of creativity and work, the members of Mayumana have performed before more than five million spectators in over 70 major cities around the world, with different shows being staged in different countries on the same evening. Today, the "Mayumana" brand is known in many countries as a promise for shows of sweeping energy, creativity and virtuoso talent. The troupe is currently made up of about 100 members (including actors, technical teams, production and marketing staff), from over 32 different countries around the world. Mayumana is a financially independent troupe that is neither supported nor subsidized by any commercial or governmental bodies.

About the Creators

Boaz Berman

Boaz Berman – Cofounder, creator and artistic director Born in Tel Aviv, Boaz Berman spent most of his childhood by the sea or playing rhythms on any instrument he could get his hands on. Boaz studied music at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Afro - Cuban percussion in New York. He was a member of the Israeli Thai boxing team, participated in surfing competitions in the US, worked as a diving instructor at a diving center in Tel Aviv and is a certified skipper. He played and recorded with leading Israeli and international artists. Boaz and Eylon Nuphar, his Co-Creator of the Mayumana Show, are the artistic force behind the Mayumana organization, making sure that the shows maintain the high standard they have set. Together they have created ADRABA, Mayumana's show for kids, and Bejuntos, a new show featuring a unique collaboration between Mayumana’s theatrical language and talents and David Broza's music, allowing Boaz to further explore his musical talents. Boaz writes music for films and continues developing new ideas for Mayumana while taking part in the daily artistic management of the shows and performing in them. For the past year Boaz has been working together with Eylon on Mayumana's latest creation: Momentum.

Eylon Nuphar

Eylon Nuphar – Cofounder, creator and artistic director Born in New York, Eylon moved to Israel with her family at the age of six. She started out as a gymnast and a long distance runner. A graduate of music and theater studies in high school, she then studied photography and cinematography, working as an editor for several years. She studied percussion, oriental music and belly dancing both in Israel and abroad, and played in various ensembles touring internationally for several years. In 1996, Boaz and Eylon came up with the idea of creating a show together and performing in it. Performing with Mayumana is great fun for Eylon to this day. Since creating Mayumana, they have continued to collaborate, creating and directing "ADRABA", Mayumana's show for kids, which has been running in Europe and Israel for the last six years. In 2006 a new show called "BEJUNTOS" starring David Broza and Mayumana was created by the creative duo. Together they have both created five commercials [one of them won the Festival of Commercials 2002 in Europe] For the past year Eylon has been working together with Boaz on Mayumana's latest creation: Momentum.

Roy Ofer

Roy Ofer – Cofounder & Producer Born and raised Israel. After dedicating time to travel the world, he began his studies in television and film. While studying, he embarked on a professional career in entertainment production, working his way up to being a producer of theater and TV shows. As a producer, his stage productions include major theatrical and entertainment shows and television programs on Israel’s main commercial Channel. An entrepreneur par excellence, Roy immediately recognized the potential inherent in the possibilities of Mayumana when he was invited to see a 20 minute rehearsal of what two years later developed into the Mayumana show. That encounter led to a 12 years collaboration that enabled the realization of the Mayumana show and organization. Over the last years Roy has completed a reorganization of Mayumana enabling him to dedicate his time to the strategic development of the Mayumana organization while dedicating time to “The Foundation for the Advancement of Creative Education” that was formed over the last year and has set goal to develop various activities for the community. The belief in team work, striving towards excellence, and the love of uncompromising art make up the cornerstones of Roy’s work

Momentum - the new show

Time, is the driving force and inspiration for the show. The creators of the show Eylon Nuphar and Boaz Berman, together with Roy Ofer (their partner in establishing Mayumana, also the producer of Momentum) and artistic consultants - Giuliano Peparini (Franco Dragone Company), David Ottone (Yllana Theatre from Spain) and Ido Kagan (Mayumana) - put together an international team of multidisciplinary stage artists in a production that presents innovative technologies developed especially for the show. The group was brought to Israel and, for six months, it worked on a completely new show, based on the perception of time and synchronization, while integrating new artistic elements, including live music, singing, video clips with a combination of rhythm, energy, humor and movement.

300,000 spectators worldwide since the show premiered in Madrid. Momentum premiered in Madrid in late 2008 and over 100,000 viewers attended the show in its first five months. Following the success of the first run in Madrid a second cast was trained in order to allow more booking flexibility. Currently, Mayumana has a touring company and another home based company at the Mayumana house in Tel Aviv. On top of those 2 Momentum casts, a thirds company is touring with the Mayumana show.
