Frank DeFreitas

Frank DeFreitas (born January 1th, 1956, Camden, New Jersey) is the maintainer of the popular website [http://www.holoworld.com/ HoloWorld] aimed at amateur holographers, and author of [http://www.holoworld.com/shoebox/about.html Shoebox Holography] . He instructs people new to holography how to make simple holograms, for example using a laser pointer.

He started working on holography in 1983 with no formal training in science [ [http://www.holowiki.com/index.php/Frank_DeFreitas Bio at Holowiki] ] . He is a 2007 recipient of the [http://www.holographyfund.org International Holography Fund] (IHF) grant award program, for the documentation of creative holographic artists through internet broadcasting [ [http://www.holographyfund.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=27 International Holography Fund] ] and has provided laser & holography educational programs for schools, ranging from elementary to University level [ [http://www.holoworld.com/ HoloWorld] ] . Additionally he hosts an internet radio program, HoloTalk [ [http://holoworld.com/holotalk/index.html HoloTalk radio show] ] and has recently begun publishing a free companion e-zine [ [http://www.holoworld.com/ezine Holoworld E-zine] ] .
