East Doncaster Secondary College(EDSC) is a government high school in the suburb of Doncaster East, Melbourne, Australia. It is located on George Street and was established 34 years ago. Its current principal is John Handley. East Doncaster Secondary College is a co-educational school and has around 1200 students. This school teaches from Year 7 up to Year 12. The subjects there are offered in most schools in Victoria such as English, Maths, Science, SOSE, Commerce, VCD, Art and LOTE. Some subjects not as common are practical subjects such as woodwork, metalwork, photography and home economics (cooking).

Uniform

Its colours are burgundy on blue, and this worn on the school jumper sport uniform. The boy's normal uniform is a blue shirt with grey trousers. The girl's uniform is a chequered blue and white dress.

Winter uniform includes a royal blue coloured woollen jumper with the EDSC logo embroided on it.

Year 11 / 12 VCE students now have a darker blue coloured woollen jumper with the EDSC logo and V.C.E embroidered on it.

Facilities

The school consists of H, A, G, P, C, J, and L blocks.

*J block is for the arts, such as art and drama.
*C block is for Lote and English.
*P block is for portables.
*G block for science and SOSE subjects.
*A block for maths and IT.
*H block mainly for careers and administration.
*L block is the John Landy / Senior Student Centre

The School also features a Senior Student Centre named after retired governor and Olympic champion John Landy (now known as The Landy Centre or L Block). The centre, used by Year 12 students includes seminar rooms, discussion space, an interview room, administration area, kitchenette and toilets. The rooms can be configured in a number of ways to permit various different uses. The air conditioned centre is equipped with internet access, colour photocopier and large projection facilities for DVD, video, and television.

The college also has a canteen, an extensive library, locker bays, toilets and basketball courts, a head office and a large oval. Stage 2 of the East Doncaster Secondary College Sports precinct has seen the opening of our new 6 synthetic, multi purpose courts. They are marked for different sports and are adjacent to the college oval.

The college is also involved in the Australian first Footloose academy for young talent in the field of basketball based football sports. The project is funded by one Ari Pianta, and hopes to take off in the not to distant future.

Recently, the school has been repainted into blue, silver and white colours and new portables have been erected. A new entrance to the college has also recently been installed, pedestrians are now separated from cars through an attractive walkway.

The School also received $6.4 million in the latest Victorian State Budget for construction works to upgrade J and G Blocks.
